Overview

Amber now supports .fountain files, a simple markup syntax for writing screenplays. This allows you to write professional screenplays while keeping your text clean and readable.

Getting Started

To use Fountain:

  1. Create a new document (⌘ + N)
  2. Select β€œScreenplay” format
  3. Start writing using Fountain syntax
  4. Save as .fountain file

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Tab - Cycle through elements (Character β†’ Parenthetical β†’ Dialogue)
  • Enter - New line with context
  • ⌘ + Enter - Force new scene heading
  • ⌘ + ] - Indent element
  • ⌘ + [ - Unindent element

Tips

  • Use standard scene heading formats (INT./EXT.)
  • Capitalize character names on first appearance
  • Keep action descriptions clear and concise
  • Follow industry formatting standards
